Rosalind Mackay is very excited to be a part of Halloween on the Green in its premier year.
Rosalind Mackay has worked extensively in theatre and the performing arts over the past 25 years. After graduating from The Theatre Arts course at Swinburne University and the National Theatre drama school, Rosalind worked in theatre, film, and television as an actor, branched out into theatre directing and stage management. In 2000 she established her own Theatre Company, Knockabout Theatre, which toured schools, theatres, and festivals throughout Victoria for 15 years.
Rosalind Mackay’s acting roles include playing Lady Macbeth, Juliet, Eliza Doolittle from The Pigmailian, Mirander from Picnic at Hanging Rock, Cecily from The Importance of being Earnest, Sylvia Plath, as well as being a regular performer with Lux Radio Theatre from twelve years; regularly performing at the Hamar Hall, Chapel off Chapel, on ABC radio and touring performing Arts Centres throughout Australia.
Other work includes working on events for Wacky Entertainment, Hall of fame entertainment and Crown Casino and racing Victoria, Lecturing at Swinburne University in the Theatre Arts Department and Circus Arts Department, drama teaching and running workshops in schools, community Arts Centres and for homeless and disadvantaged youth.
In 2006, Rosalind Mackay became a marriage celebrant and has since performed hundreds of weddings throughout Victoria. She continues to work as a celebrant because she loves it and will even be sneaking in a cheeky wedding ceremony during the festival.
